On the festival
La Rioja Drumming Festival is a different way of understanding, of feeling and of living through the battery and the percussion. Beyond being an accompaniment instrument, Drumming Festival puts in the first line of the stage the battery and to the musician and thinks about how to bring all the public over to them, promoting its publication and spectacle.
With this target, the Festival has been structured in its five editions in two parts, the educational one across the main classes in the morning and other one like spectacle in the night, giving priority to the exhibitions of skill, speed, virtuosity, battery, etc. of the musical protagonists. And always coming, in addition to to the musicians and bateristas, to the public in general. This way, in its five editions it has been provided with nearly 17.000 spectators and it is confident of being consolidated in its sixth edition in September, 2010. Así, en sus cinco ediciones ha contado con cerca de 17.000 espectadores y confía en consolidarse en su sexta edición en septiembre del 2010.
Five editions of the Festival have been celebrated in La Rioja and, from the first moment, they have been provided with the participation and applause of the general public and the support and the bet decided about the authorities, institutions and companies both of the Autonomous region and of the town halls for the celebration of this event that does not have any lucre fortitude.
For it, fundamental is the collaboration – and also advice - of the marks and musical signatures in the celebration and growth of the Festival, like Sennheiser, Yamaha, paiste, They knew or Mapex. A support that takes shape of the presence of its artists, of gifts of materials or of the drawing of two drummers Mapex between the public assistant in the last edition.
Baptized like Spanish International Drumming Festival, the first edition was celebrated in July, 2005 in the Autol locality and was provided with nearly 3.000 persons in two nights and in the main classes to enjoy of 8 percusionistas national and international and 4 bands protagonists. The second edition moved in August, 2006 to Alfaro, with 6 percusionistas and 4 bands in its two festive nights. From this first moment, the Festival has had a big presence and aftereffect in the mass media of La Rioja and in the specializing ones of Spain. Desde ese primer momento, el Festival ha tenido una gran presencia y repercusión en los medios de comunicación de La Rioja y en los especializados de España.
And the organization of the festival decided to bet for consolidating it in Logronio, capital of Autonomous region, under the initials La Rioja Drumming Festival with the same format during 2007 and 2008, a night of spectacle and an intense morning of main classes counting with several of the best bateristas of the world in the different styles – from the metal to the blues - and a national group flag that should close the musical holiday.
This format allows a fact that differs to the Festival: the closeness and the contact between the musical protagonists and the public, always passionate and been interesting in learning. The complicity and the passion for the music between organization, bateristas and taking part musicians and the public, connected by Dom Famularo as godfather and teacher of ceremonies of the Festival, gives place to a familiar and friendly ambience about what joins all of us, the battery and the percussion. La complicidad y la pasión por la música entre organización, bateristas y músicos participantes y el público, enlazados por Dom Famularo como padrino y maestro de ceremonias del Festival, da lugar a un ambiente familiar y amistoso alrededor de lo que nos une a todos, la batería y la percusión.
The reception of the festival has been enormous both between public and sponsors and in the mass media. This way, from its first edition, the appointment has been carried and has occupied many pages of the regional newspapers, reportages in the televisions and interviews in the radioes riojanas. Also, the national specializing means have given him big coverage and he has become commented in the morning one 'Presently' of the Chain SER, that it is provided with 2,5 million listeners. Además, los medios especializados nacionales le han dado gran cobertura y ha llegado a ser comentado en el matinal ‘Hoy por hoy’ de la Cadena SER, que cuenta con 2,5 millones de oyentes.
